Latest Update :

FAQ has got 9 ulcers now..really dunno wat's wrong wif her wor..already drowned her in liang teh..gurgle salt water..even went to the chinese supermarket to buy 'pi pa gao' & chin chow..still, she got no voice..

Speaking of the chin chow..quite funny..first time eat chin chow out of a can..after struggling with the can opener(it's not working very well), we realised it's plain chin chow wifout the syrup..so we dissolved some sugar in hot water & poured it over the chin chow..it turned out to be quite 'professional-tasting'..heh

Nothing much for the day otherwise..it was a bank holiday over here & half of the shops were not opened..

Wat's for lunch tmr..?

Breakfast Disaster

This morning's breakfast was really a failure..we had bought garlic bread from M&S the day before and i was looking forward to hot garlic toast this morning..

We happily went to the hostel kitchen & according to the instructions, we need to heat it up in the oven..we were looking high & low for the oven heating pans before we saw a couple of them hanging..but one look at them, we knew we wouldn't use them..they looked like they have not been washed for ages..we were quite disappointed as the rest of the cutlery were reasonably decent..

Without an oven to toast our garlic bread..we had only 2 choices - to throw it away or to try heating up in the microwave (which was not mentioned on the packaging). Being the giam gannas, we naturally went for the latter option. And so, we threw the bread into the microwave..

10 mins later, the loaf seemed heated up enough..it smells quite good actually..but when i tried to poke it with my fork, it wouldn't poke thru..not even the knife can cut thru..failure #1

Not satisfied with rock-hard bread, we attempted to make half-boiled eggs..threw 3 eggs into the hot water & the 3 of us power-stared at the bowl..

5 mins later, FAQ got impatient and cracked open an egg..still as raw as ever lor..cracked another one, still the same results..we waved our little white flag up & opted for scrambled eggs instead..failure #2

****************************************************************************************

FAQ was still not feeling too good(she really fa re..at last count, she had 7 ulcers) so she stayed behind in the hostel today..in the meantime, cordell & i decided to go out to Wells & Glastonbury..2 little countryside towns off Bristol..

While waiting for the bus to Wells, this guy starting talking to us..and since he was heading the same way, we took the bus together..wat a talkative guy! it's rather unusual for the english to be so chatty..so i was rather surprised by how much he can yak..he almost talked non-stop for the 1 hr journey..

He's quite a nice guy lah..been to Sg before..also had a working holiday stint in Australia..on the way, he also recommended us to skip Wells & head directly to Glastonbury..it wasn't too idea a suggestion cos i found Glastonbury to be quite a charming place..there's this little hill called Glastonbury Tor & the views from up there was quite nice..

Back at the hostel, we have a few decisions to make..where should we go next? Our initial plans were to head southwest towards Cornwall but FAQ & cordell were quite concerned with the bus tickets (they cost a lot more than what we expected)..or shall we settle down here for a while since there seemed to be quite a lot of employment agencies around here..?

Stayed tuned..

Bath Time

Woke up this morning to find tat the temp had gone down again..it means time to dig out the jacket..sigh..

Anyway, we packed our lunch(sandwiches lor, wat else) and caught a local bus out to Bath. It's quite nearby, took us about 45 mins to reach the town centre of Bath. Bustling place, prob cos it was Saturday..

Reached the main square & decided to munch our lunch first..u really tend to eat more in cold weather..after tat, they wanted to go in to the Roman Baths but i wasn't too on..was never too keen in spas & stuff before..a quick check at the admission prices made me reaffirm my decision not to go in - entry charges was £9.50pp. No way am i gonna pay those prices to see some bath tubs..

And so, they went in and i just wandered along those streets..got xian after a while since i couldn't afford to buy anything anyway, so i sat down on a bench & people watched..

2 hours later, they emerged from the baths satisfied..took a quick peek at their digital photos & thankfully, i didn't regret not going in..

We then walked down to a Saturday market but was a bit of a disappointment..u could count the no of stalls on both hands..but i perked up at the sight of Waitrose (the equivalent of Cold Storage back home)..went in & came out with yet another bag of groceries : )

On the way back to Bristol, i was entertained by this group of young lads..ave age about 20 - 22..they were singing for most of the journey, complete with feet tapping & finger clicking..basically, they just sang watever came to their heads and/or watever they saw along the way - a phenomenon not exactly alien to me..Eg. the bus went past a Mac & they burst out in unison 'I'm loving it..'

And i wonder...are those people still singing as much as they do back in Sg?

Here @Bristol

Tat's right..i've arrived at Bristol..there's this part of the city called @Bristol where they have their IMAX Theatre, Science Centre, etc..

Met up with cordell & FAQ yesterday afternoon(ah blur had to fly back to Sg to attend to some urgent matters) and we took a coach from London down to Bristol. Wat could have been a 2.5 hrs ride turned out to be a 3+ hr ride..hmm..reminds me of a bus ride i took in this 'far far land'..

We're sharing the dorm with 3 very happening ang mo cha bos..went partying & came back at 3am last nite..or should i say this morning..interrupting my beauty sleep in the process.. : /

FAQ is not feeling too well so we didn't move about too much today..just walked around the town centre and went grocery shopping for our meals for the next 2 days (we'll be staying here for 4 nites)..uh-oh, i'm becoming like the sisters..getting obsessed with my next meal..

Anyway, we went to see the Clifton Suspension Bridge in the afternoon..supposedly a symbol for Bristol..k lah, quite nice lah..

And hee..i managed to jog again just now..& in t-shirt & shorts too..it must have been about 22 degrees today..comfortable weather..

Depending on FAQ's condition tmr, we might make a day trip to Bath..see how lah..

Lovely Weather(finally)

Yup..i would say today's weather was quite..nice(wat other adjectives can be used to describe weather?)

Stepped out of the house..a bit windy..but it's the refreshing kinda of breeze..cool (literally)

Today's her day off..& since her sister just finished her exams too.. we went out for dim sum(finally a meal where we didn't have to think of wat to cook) Not too bad..as authentic as the ones back in Sg..actually if u know where to look for it..they serve pretty decent, if not better, chinese food here..

She wanted to go for a haircut but couldn't get an appt..oh ya, toking about hair..i realise my hair's become more manageable since i came over..maybe it's due to the low humidity or something..i dun even need to comb my hair when i get out of bed in the morning..(well, my hair looks pretty neat in the photos, doesn't it?) finally, one plus point about the weather here..

Anyway, so we went to this place - Southall..kinda like Little India..the whole row of streets are selling Indian stuff..even the supermarket reminds me of Mustafa..

And surprise surprise, she bought a Punjabi (wat's the fascination about Punjabi..why not sari? would u like to enlighten me? Ms i-bought-punjabis-too?)

As we were walking along the streets..i started to perspire..first time i'm feeling warm & i was just wearing a t-shirt & a long-sleeve tee..

Thought it was a bit wasteful not to run in such good weather..but oh well, i think i did my workout for the day - carrying shopping bags : Þ

Wednesday, 25 May 2005

I finally did it..

To jog, tat is..i've been saying tat for as long as i'm here..today, i finally plucked up enuf courage to go out there in the mad weather & run..

I had planned to jog at my 'usual hour' - 6pm..at least there'll be some familarity..5+ came & i started to get ready..

Wat's there to get ready u might ask? Plenty..first on the list of cos is weather check..stuck my head out of the window..hmm..some sunshine..check..next is the running gear..not much of a choice for the bottoms since i have only 1 pair of track pants (i still dun have the courage to run in shorts)

As for the top..a bit of a headache..haven't jogged in such cold weather since i last jogged in Macau where i ended up with a headache cos of the cold wind : / Decided on a dri-fit singlet, a dri-fit long-sleeve & my gola jacket..omigod..feel like a ba zhang..

Off i go..took a turn at the corner of the street & went into a residential area..very 'england-looking' indeed..15 mins into the jog..still barely perspiring..which is rather strange cos i would usually be dripping with sweat back in Sg by now..

Feeling a little heavy though..seldom do i run in so many layers..opps, feel my pants slipping a bit..hope they dun fall off..yet..

Another 15 mins later..started to perspire..in fact, getting a bit warm inside..decided to unzip my jacket..wrong move, the wind got in & i started to shiver..up goes the zip..

30 mins..starting to pant liao..decided to call it a day & headed home..back home, i did my routine workout..some pushups & dips..think instructor will shake her head & say i 'muscle imbalance'..but these are the easier exercises tat i can do wifout equipment mah..

The workout did help to increase my body temperature slightly..managed to walk around the house in just t-shirts & shorts after tat..

Yes, it feels good to be able to workout & i look forward to my next workout again : )

A Lazy Sunday

Can't believe it..i actually woke up with muscle aches on my legs this morning..it must be all the walking yesterday..

As mentioned in my previous blog..i was out for 10 hours yest..& was on my feet most of the time..yup, even my meals were on the move(since i couldn't afford to sit down in a restaurant)..couldn't even sit down on a bench or somewhere since it was raining on & off the whole day..

Oh, i didn't mention the park yest..i had chanced upon the Regent's Park & decided to have a stroll inside(like i didn't have enuf of walking..zhen shi you dian huo gai)..then ambitious me decided to cut across the park to the other exit..but did u know how long this 'stroll' took me? 1 hour..yes, 1 hour just to get out of the park..

Anyway, i decided to take it easy today(as if i've not for the past week)..woke up at 1130..the cold weather + the warm covers made it easy to chalk 10 - 12 hours of sleep everyday..dun be too jealous folks..hehehe *evil laughs*

Had my brunch..nothing spectatular..peanut butter bread..well, wat do expect from me? But i must say the peanut butter back in Sg tastes better..somehow the peanut butter here tastes weird..kinda salty..

But increasingly i finding it difficult to upkeep my 'white diet'..u know, she likes to experiment with food(rem how their conversations revolve around meals?)..& so, i've sort of become a guinea pig for her..yest was hokkien mee..haha, yes, the very hokkien mee i brought over..

Earlier in the afternoon, she was in the mood for some croissants..she had bought some ready-to-bake mixture the other day from the supermarket and it turned out to be like..well..croissants..& so, 3 croissants, complete with tuna topping, went in me..

Dinner just now was laksa(also airflown via ZXL Courier)..followed by some chocolates which i had bought from Camden Market yest..

Anyway..all i wanna say is..most of the food in the fridge is gone & it's time for another trip to the supermarket tmr :p

The Amazing Race - The Marketing Version

Yes..i spent my entire saturday racing around markets..visited 3 and a half markets..why is there a half? Cos after spending 20 mins walking in the rain, i realised the Brick Lane market is only open on Sundays (stupid LP!!!)..thus i insist tat it be counted(as half)..

Ya..& to think tat was the first stop on my itinerary too..imagine starting off the day happily..spent almost 1 hour, changing tubes 4x before i reached the place..then confidently navigated my way there from the tube station..

I should have suspected something cos the streets leading to the market were rather quiet..in any case, after walking for about 20 mins, my confidence level started to drop & i popped into a convenience store to ask about the market..& my worst fears were confirmed when the uncle told me the market is only on sundays.. : (

And so, i had to walk back to the tube station..in the rain : ((

2nd stop was more successful..went to Borough Market - a market market(as compared to a bazaar market)..wooh..mushrooms..siam!

Next was Camden Market..positively teeming with tourists..london's equivalent of Chatuchat Market (of cos the hot sun was replaced by the irritating rain)..quite a nice place to jalan-jalan though..think the ssc folks will like it here..there's a section which kinda reminds me of the bazaar in kanchanaburi..only there's no one to share ji pai & pao bing wif me now *.*

After tat, it was off to Covent Garden..more crowds..a bit overwhelmed by the no of pple on the streets..esp when i'm standing in a corner of the street, trying to locate myself on the map..& hordes of pple just rushed by me..

This is my first day out in central london since i came here..since i have not much of an agenda & it's rather costly to travel up & down (a one-day travel pass out to central london costs me £6)

But first..the weather..in my 10 hours out on the streets today..i lost count of how many times i put on & took off my jacket from my haversack..the rain..while it's not thunderstorm..most of the times, it's at most a heavy drizzle(eh, a bit contradicting hor?)..but i don't want my camera(in my slingpouch) to get wet mah..so i'll try to 'lup' my jacket over lor..but there were a few times, before i could even get my jacket out from the haversack, the rain has stopped..& 2 mins later later, the rain will come again >.<

Sigh..think i better get used to this temperamental weather..more 'shan bian' than a woman's temper..

A day in the life of xiao pang-wannabe

It’s another day..woke up at 10am..had my breakfast..congee today, thanks to the 2 sisters..

Compared to the last 2 days, it’s slightly warmer today..i could lounge around in the house wearing just 2 layers. Previously, I would be wearing a t-shirt, a long-sleeved t-shirt, a sweater, long pants, socks AND I’ll still be shivering. .

Saw some sunshine coming thru the windows..& thot to myself ‘maybe I can go for a quick run later’

Whiled away most of the morning reading newspapers..my heart bleeds a little each morning when I go down to buy the papers..since they cost me 50 – 70p, depending on which one I buy..

Damn it, it’s starting to rain(yes, weather is an obsession here)..there goes my jogging plan..if this goes on, my old frens – the 5 chins are gonna return very soon : /

Oh well, since i can't jog, i shall blog..

Hmm..shall blog about my ‘temp roommates’..

You know, I’m quite amused with the daily conversations between the 2 sisters..75% of it revolves around their next meal..what ingredients are available at home..how they're gonna prepare them..what else needs to be bought from the supermarket, etc..they plan for meals(soup & pasta vs salad & sandwich) like i plan my workout routine (shoulders & triceps vs back & biceps)

To call them 'domesticated' would be rather unfair since they've travelled all the way from their hometown to a foreign country all by themselves & they're doing rather well in their own ways..to call them cosmopolitan would be weird too since they still remain very much rooted to their origins..

Hmm..wonder what do they think of this strange Singaporean who speaks cantonese with a funny accent?

5 things i hate about the cold weather

1. Obviously, when it's cold, i wear more clothes..which means i need to wash more clothes..

2. Feeling the cold milk travel from my throat thru my intestines down to my stomach when i have my cereal in the morning..

3. Not being able to exercise (& therefore risk turning into a xiao pang)

4. Having to place my ass on the icy-cold toilet seat everytime i need to pee/shit

5. Playing 'mixing-the-right-temp-water' in the shower..stark naked..(this is worse than battling a ham sup xiao qiang..also stark naked)

Aha..this is what i mean by globalisation..

In one of my previous entries titled 'Globalisation'..i was talking about me & 2 other frens - rq & ys (yes wei, i hear u..globalisation doesn't mean this but i like the way it sounds..eh sai buay?)

I was saying then, with rq in US, me leaving for UK & ys staying in Sg..it would be quite interesting to see how we can keep up with our daily email exchanges..

& guess wat? just 15 mins earlier..all 3 of us managed to chat in realtime...it's 2pm in UK, 9am in US & 9pm in Sg..and all of us are logged on..this is a rare scene when i was still in Sg..since i'm seldom in office when rq reports for work at 8 in the morning (meaning it's 8pm in Sg)

Interesting eh?

Congratulations!

Once again, i must accept my defeat again..my attempts to 'hide' my flight schedule has been thwarted by my ever-resourceful (ex)colleagues again..

Feel quite paiseh..they did so much for me & i didn't do much in return..the past 2 weeks just went past just like tat..tat was one dilemma i faced earlier..to go for the Bintan trip or to stay back in Sg to have 2 days of 'peace & quiet' to prepare my farewell gifts? But seeing how much efforts they put in to get me on the trip made me decide on the former..well, i think real memories are more 'shi zai' right? (sorry to those folks in SRC *.*)

'Xie xie ni men lai kan wo..wo hen gan dong..ye hen gao xing..'

***********************************************************************

Phew..quite glad i'm sitting next to a Singaporean couple on the flight & not next to some ang mos wif shoulders broader than me and legs longer than me..

It must have been the supper..i was feeling rather hungry & polished off the sweet & sour fish with rice..almost immediately, i dozed off only to be awaken by the uncle next to me asking 'do u still want the food?' *shakes head sleepily*

Continued to sleep for the next 10 hours..

Breakfast time..chose the omelette..oh great, they didn't inform me it was MUSHROOM omelette..so who do i pass the mushrooms to now?!

***********************************************************************************

Touched down as per schedule..715am london time..the immigration queue was a nightmare..i figured there are at least some 500 pax in the hall..oh, saw a separate q for those visa holders, not too sure if i qualify as one..but i joined the q anyway..

Oh..so i need to go for a medical checkup..like wat she says later..take it as a free health screening lor..in any case, it wasn't much of a 'checkup'..all they did was a chest x-ray..

Finally i was out of the terminal terminal building..brrr..it was rather cold..people are walking around as though they are dressed for winter..wearing coats & all..& me..in my nike dri-fit shirt..well done zxl..

Took a nap in the afternoon..then watched some tv..almost forgot about my dinner cos of the daylights..it was still bright at 8.30pm..

Just finished a big bowl of pasta..feeling sleepy again..it must be the weather..

Shit..got a feeling tat i'm gonna turn into a 'xiao pang' soon..

Help...

Time : 1.30am

Venue : Some EC in the northern part of Singapore, where the stupid security mistook me for some delivery guy @.@

No of pax : Plus/minus 10

There are now 2 pairs of eyes on me, willing me to shut off the laptop..but i shall perservere!! *evil laughs*

Aha..seems like they've started to give up on me..someone switched on the tv liao..

And now, the conversation turned to blogging..OSIM just revealed tat she has several blogs floating about in cyberspace..some people just can't commit..sigh..*feeble protest from OSIM*

The host, aka known as Ms 'Life-Changing Experience' just walked in with a sleepy look on her..demanding to know why there are still leftover chicken wings on the table..AND THEN, she starts eating them..

..TO BE CONT'D

The Amazing Race(s)

There's plenty of stuff i wanna blog about..but it's 1.20 in the morning z_z

The brain just doesn't function as well in the wee hours as it did before..it doesn't help very much tat i've just scrolled thru some 100 odd photos of people dangling in various positions from the trapeze..y'know? i really have no idea how to rotate some of them so tat they will appear 'upright'..

Think we outdid ourselves this time again..taking 300 pics in 30 hrs..if u take away 8 hours of sleeping time, tat means we took 300 shots in 22 hrs..tat's an ave of 13.5 shots/hr..& this is just ONE camera..at last count, there were at least 3 other cameras..

It has been 2 days of 'amazing races' for me - the tv version with not-winners R & A, the bintan version & of cos, our very own colleagues' version..but to blog about one of my fave topics - Amazing Race, when i'm not in optimal condition will not do it justice..& so, i shall continue tmr..

Voiceover : A detour is a choice between 2 tasks, each with its own pros & cons. In this detour, Team 'Die-die-i-must-watch-TAR-tonite' has to choose between 'Bench It' & 'Paddle It'..

Changes..or not?

Hmm..i usually blog at night..but since i'm now stuck at home on this rainy tues afternoon(& i'm trying to push off packing my room till the last possible moment)..so here i am, sitting in front of my pc..typing wat-i-hope-makes-sense..

Last nite, i had met 'mama' for late dinner/early supper(wat would u call a meal eaten at 9-ish)..we finally met up after numerous failed attempts(which i'm mainly at fault *.*) mama's a school mate whom i've not seen in 4,5 years? I must say she looks exactly the same as i last saw her..& i guess i must have looked the same to her too..or least this is wat pple say..tat i haven't changed much since..well, tommy page came onto the scene with 'a shoulder to cry on'..

This is one common factor i noticed in most of my frens..or at least the ones tat i still keep in contact with..as u know, i have had been (trying) to pack up my room recently..& i came across some old photos..be it my school mates, tt team-mates, from-nowhere frens..95% of them remain fairly recognisable after all these years..other than having aged..opps, i mean matured slightly..and maybe longer hair these days(long hair was banned during my sec sch days, not tat it mattered to me)

Some might have put on weight slightly..some might have removed their glasses(thanks to contact lens & increasingly, lasik)..but overall, there doesn't seem to be any drastic changes..if u are familiar with those taiwanese variety shows where the audience go 'wahhh' when some transformed duckling appears..u'd understand wat i mean by 'drastic changes'..

I guess sometimes it's nice to know tat certain things are more or less 'unchangeable'(like the colour of my hair)..and so, i wonder..wat will the changes be like in 1 year's time? or will there be any?

Weekdays vs weekends

Today's the end of the weekend..theoretically, there should be no difference between a weekday & weekend for a nuahster like me..as some people might say, everyday's weekend for u! but somehow, it doesn't seem to work this way leh..

First, there's still the weekday lunch crowd to deal with..just the other day, i happily took a 5-mins stroll to the hawker centre which somewat lies on the fringe of shenton way..i had purposely waited till 130pm before venturing out, naively believing that the crowd should have thinned out by then..how wrong i was!

After circling the place twice, i still couldn't get a table..and i resorted to da-baoing my yu yuan mian..the yu yuan connoisseur in me strongly believes tat yu yuan mian should be eaten at the location itself..as compared to ji fan, which can be da-baoed & left for half the day & it will still taste the same..(speaking of which, i must go & eat my fave yu yuan mian before i go..interested to go wif me 0.5? : Þ)

Anyway, the weekend came..went yum cha-ing with wei & the class monitress..after which, we just loitered around chinatown while waiting to go off for our next appointments..aiyo, there were people everywhere...& i mean everywhere..even the fastfood joint in chinatown was packed..& u would have thought tat the average shopper in chinatown would prefer chinese food to some burgers..

Another thing tat's unmistakeably weekend-ish is tat i went jogging around the neighbourhood with ms 'no-pics-with-my-short-hair'..an activity usually reserved for sundays & PHs..and for half hour today, the 2 of us jogged without a route in mind...along the road..under HDBs..backlanes..basically, wherever we felt like running..

15 more mins before the weekend comes to a close..why do i sense this bit of dreary in me? Is it cos it's monday soon..or is it the fact tat i'm another day nearer to leaving my frens..?

Friday, 6 May 2005

I hate packing!

Never knew cleaning up a room can be so tiring..suspect the 'packing/cleaning' gene is missing in me...if not, how do u explain the fact tat my room looks exactly the same after 4 hours of packing??!! @_@

Oh..& tat was just my computer room..barely covering 9 sqm..

In another few hours later, the 3 of them - cordell, FAQ & ah blur will be on the plane to UK..a bit of irony here..me, being the main proponent, will be flying off last..oh well, one's gotta do one gotta do..

Just yesterday, we gave ourselves a 'farewell lunch'..perhaps one of the last hearty singapore meal in a while? Of cos, being typical singaporeans, we had armed ourselves with bak kut teh teabags & hokkien mee seasoning paste to fight off cravings for chinese food in an ang moh country..i guess tat explains why they have been complaining about how heavy their backpacks are..me? i'm just glad they gave up the idea of bringing canned curry chicken over!

Sms from FAQ..worrying about excess luggage charges..dun scare me lor..really so heavy ah??

While i was happily soliciting farewell meals for the past 2 weeks or so, they have been packing & packing & packing..checked out their luggage a few days ago..like not tat jia lat leh..

Sigh..if only i can fly her in to pack for me..

Meredith & Gretchen are eliminated..

The latest casualty in TAR had been the 'old couple'..the 10th pit stop in 'a race around the world' was London(hmm..)..had i been there, i would have sabo-ed R & A big time! but as luck would have it, R & A found a little helper in Mr Stuart instead..

Meredith & Gretchen simply couldn't catch up with Uchenna & Joyce anymore..which leads me to the question...WHY DID THEY CHOOSE THE BRAWN DETOUR??!!! By making this choice, they might just have unwittingly revealed the fact tat they are, indeed, lacking in the brain dept...

Down to the final 3 teams..caught the trailer for the finale next week..gosh, think i'm gonna suffer a heart attack watching tat last episode..

May R & A not win..May R & A not win..May R & A not win..May R & A not win..May R & A not win..May R & A not win..

Have I...?

Yawn..woke up at 11am this morning..something not quite possible if u're a regular 'da gong zai' (and in the civil service no less)..well, today's the first official day of my 'self-employment'..

Lunched with a long-time-no-see fren..oh, she had lasik done too..seems like it's the 'in' thing nowadays..and then it's off to the bank..woah, wat a queue..it must be the 'beginning of mth-cum-after a long weekend' factor..tat's why..

Oh ya, i wonder wat happened to lulu's bank card..it got swallowed by the machine the day before..sms-ed her about it..a few suan-ing smses ensued..

A while later, i received a sms from 0.5..she just reminded me, i needed to get some cosmetics(sorry to disappoint, they're not for myself) and..i need help..

Terra finally arrived 20 mins past stated time..she is one busy woman..sat down at the kopi tiam across mustafa..showed her THE book..basically i've been showing off THE book to everyone and anyone who bothered to take a look over the past few days..heh..

Fipping thru the pages, Terra commented 'these colleagues are really very thoughtful..u should keep in contact with them'..*vigorous nodding*

Oh..& i must mention this..this Terra..happily rode her bike to meet me..knowing very well tat we're supposed to go for a run later..& guess wat? she totally forgot tat her pillion rider, me, needs a helmet & there was no extra helmet for me..best part is..? she happily suggested tat i get a turban from one of the shops so tat i can be excused from wearing a helmet(we, were afterall, in little india)...frens...sigh...

Back from the run..horrible weather..t-shirt was totally soaked in perspiration..whoops, 5 missed calls & 2 smses..called Ms k..ooh..apparently, their 'lancing' class was cancelled and they had gone for dinner instead..a little too late in returning their call, they were done by then..oh well, too bad for me then..

Mobilephone sounded..sms from the instructor..confirming dinner appt for tmr..

'Uh-oh'..another sms..from OSIM..checking to see if i'd posted her letter for her(dun trust me huh?!)..

As if on cue, OSIM's good fren, Ms 'Organics-make-my-hair-oily' sent me a sms almost immediately after..

Have i really left my workplace? It certainly doesn't feel so...
